System Design of Complex Software Facilities for Information Systems.

The second edition of this book has been significantly revised with new materials. This is caused by high rates of development of technology and standards for design of software facilities (SF) for information systems (IS) during last three years. This new edition focuses on SF high quality maintenance beginning from system analysis and design. At the same time, the sections included overviews of international standards, which are available now for Russian developers (and some of which have been approved as Russian GOSTs), have been significantly reduced.

The book states the grounds of preliminary structural design and modern technology of system analysis and design of complicated software complexes. A close attention is devoted to quality attributes and resources allocation, which are necessary for IS projects implementation, life cycle planning, and quality management. The tasks and principles of system design of software complexes operational security mechanisms, and also of a choose of tools to support the whole life cycle of SF are considered. Fragments of international standards are presented that regulated main tasks and implementation requirements for system design, SF quality attributes and maintenance processes. The principles of system design of complex SF and their quality requirements are stated, and a structure and content of documentation that should reflect results of completed work are discussed.

The book is recommended for developers, customers, and executives of information system projects, and may also be used as a primary source for firm manuals on contracts preparation for SF projects, and also as a textbook on system design of complex software facilities.
