On December, 1-2 the ISP RAS will arrange the first scientific-practical Open conference

On December, 1-2 the Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences will arrange the first scientific-practical Open conference devoted to the ISP RAS fundamental researches, technologies and practical studies which have been closed on agreement with projects’ originators. Latest projects on implementing new technologies in industry, executed together with foreign and Russian industry partners will be presented to participants.

Most of the ISP RAS cutting edge researches have been available only to the Institute partners or partially shown during scientific conferences to a narrow group of specialists. For the first time such large number of the Institute technologies will be gathered at one place and shown to general public from a practical point of view with explanations on how they are used. Among others, the Institute will present results of long-term cooperation with largest global companies or leading actors from different market sectors. Tools, which will be presented at the conference, have been developed under long-term partnership projects, at which the ISP RAS was aimed from the day of its foundation.

The main topic of the conference is related to program analysis, mostly in context of information security provision: methods for defect detection in software at the development stage, reverse engineering, program execution in controlled environment, undocumented features detection, etc. Another topic is “big data” analysis automation: analysis of the content generated by Internet users including social networks, natural languages analysis, machine learning methods, etc.

Among the ISP RAS products to be presented at the conference there are:

• Svace – technology of static analysis for detecting defects in program source codes. The Svace analyzer has become a de-facto standard for the Tizen OS development framework. It is being actively adopted by Samsung company. In 2016 Svace was included in a shortlist of CNews Awards in the "Technology of the year" nomination.
• Code obfuscation technology, preventing program analysis and hacking. Among other, it is used to protect programs from exploitation of vulnerabilities. Russian company "Swemel" implements it for protection of trusted software (OS "Zirkon") in its information safety solutions. Government structures are among the users of this technology.
• Social networks analysis technologies, including data flows monitoring, origins and distributors revealing, restoration of incomplete or corrupted information in user's profile. Customers – several of the largest international telecommunication companies.
• Detection of defects in OS Linux drivers. Pilot project of the ISP RAS to the benefit of international Linux community.

The conference is arranged by the ISP RAS in partnership with “Tizen.ru” association as well as Samsung, Huawei, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, DELL, NVIDIA companies.

It is supported by the Russian academy of sciences, the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO Russia), the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC Russia).
